Welcome. And Kim Kardashian Wants to go Blonde. Again.

Welcome to my first blog posting!

So I'd like to dedicate my first post to a very special person I sometimes refer to as "the Antichrist." She is allegedly a celebrity, dubiously fashionable, and she has hair.

Kim Kardashian.

By calling her the Antichrist I don't mean that she is a bad person. I'm sure she is a very nice girl. It's just that the very fact we can't turn on the TV, go online, or walk by a Sears store without seeing images of her or her slightly distinguishable sisters is probably a sign of the impending Apocalypse.  And if one more client of mine refers to long, weavy hair as "Kardashian" hair I might lose it.

I get it. These girls have hair.

Kim Kardashian attends the 2nd annual Midori Green Halloween Party at Avenue on October 27, 2012 in New York City.So Kim Kardashian announced via US Weekly's website that she would like to go blonde. Again.

"I would go blond! I think it's fun, you know? I'm going to keep it on for at least a night and see if it's true that blonds really have more fun," Kardashian, 32, told Us Weekly at the Oct. 28 Midori Halloween party she hosted -- as part of her duties as the brand's spokeswoman.

It's not that Kim would necessarily look bad as a blonde. I will concede that she is a very pretty lady who would probably look good in many different haircolors. It's just that we've been here before.

Every year or so Kim "announces" that she wants to be, is going to be, or has just become BLONDE. And she keeps it up for a month or so before going back to her natural ravishing brunette. Remember these pictures from the last several years?

She looks fine, maybe even good, as a blonde. But she looks phenomenal and exotic as a brunette. So why does she keep bringing up this garbage about "going blonde?" I think there are a few reasons:

1) ATTENTION: She is an attention succubus and we just keep giving it to her.

2) Boredom: I get it- sometimes you just want a change and even the Antichrist can choose to express herself through fashion if she wants.

3) The Beauty Myth: It's impossible that in our culture someone can be "pretty enough." There's gotta be something wrong with all of us, and if the solution isn't dieting to within an inch of one's life or health-threatening plastic surgery, it's drastic and damaging haircolor processes which deny our own beauty, ethnicity, and uniqueness.

That being said, I think Kim Kardashian should go blonde. And not highlights or a slight base bump. She should go balls-the-the-wall, double-process, Jayne Mansfield, suicide BLONDE.

She would probably look fabulous for a few weeks or months until she decides to go back to brown. Or maybe all her hair will break off. Who cares?
